Crochet Bow Headband Pattern

You know what is a bummer? Breaking your tailbone!  Especially when your part time job is an award winning bus aide.  My first morning back after taking a little break, I was in tears the whole time.  I was infuriated with myself.  If I didn't have to sit in a bumpy bus, or bend over to tie down the wheelchairs, I would have been fine.  Sadly, those were both very important tasks in my job.  Now that I am home, I have some time on my hands.  Granted, I do most of my crocheting and computer work standing up but that's OK. Standing burns more calories than sitting.
I am trying to use my time wisely and thanks to a friend at Lifes Yarn I am putting on my big girl pants and writing crochet patterns! Starting with some baby steps, my Crochet Bow Headband is listed in my Etsy Shop.  It's a really quick and simple pattern, my 11 year old can make one up in under 2 hours.  It's a great project for a beginner!

Camera Lens Buddy

My friends posted something like these on facebook and I couldn't resist.  I haven't been as busy with my photography because crochet is just too much fun.  I don't have to get dressed to crochet at home, clients don't appreciate me showing up in pj's without a bra on when I do photography.  Living in this town with a bunch of "photography students" willing to do pics for free really helps too.
When I do photo sessions, especially with children, I usually have one hand on my camera (which is really heavy) and another waiving something around.  These camera lens buddies will help to concentrate on settings and getting good shots.
I think these would be really helpful for anyone who has a DSLR camera to get babies attention.  You don't have to be a professional to NEED one of these!
I am going to list these in my ETSY shop next week at $12 each with $2.50 S&H.  This week, I will discount them on my blog for $10 & FREE shipping! Yipee!

Crochet Hat with Awesome Straps

I hadn't made many of these this winter, I have been busy with headbands and more headbands.  I recently met a lady that is a friend of a friend.  She was wanting a new hat to cover her sweet head that is now bald due to chemotherapy.  I couldn't resist making one of these for her!  It is so comfortable and being able to change out the straps makes it feel like you have options.  I can't imagine what she goes through during all of her treatments.  I was so thankful that I was able to make her day just a little bit better because it made my day a whole lot better.

I posted her hat on facebook and had a few others that kinda wanted one too.  If you are one of those people, you can order it here on the blog.  Once I get the order, it takes 2-3 days for me to get the hat and straps made up and out in the mail.  If you have any questions, you can always email me at mymadymichelleboutique@gmail.com.

My Mady Michelle International

I am feeling very International today!  This week I received two orders in my Etsy shop to be sent around the world.  AROUND THE WORLD!  It is a kind of a dorky/rad feeling to know that the items that I crochet WITH LOVE are in places I will most likely never go.

I made this sweet afghan with all of my extra yarn balls last year.  I want to make another!  I think my husband will leave me if I don't finish some of my other projects first.  Anyway, she is going to Austrailia.  Have fun down under my friend!
This is my best selling boy owl hat.  I made a newborn size for a sweet little one in Iceland.  We know it will go to good use.

I think I would feel like a total jerk to not mention how thankful I am  for this craft that I have become obsessed with.  I love to crochet and have the most patient family in the world! They put up with my mess and lack of being a functioning house mom.  I am blessed and so thankful to be able to support my hobby that brings me such joy.

Baby Girl Headband Options

It was just 10 years ago when Mady was a baby.  She required headbands and hats to convince the world that she was indeed a girl.  I wish so badly that I would have had these when she was little.  I love being able to use items for more than one option!

These headbands and flowers are basic but they are so fantastic BECAUSE this set has 20 different options for color combos.  The crochet headband is soft and doesn't have any glue or knots under the button.  The flowers slip on and off the buttons, so easy.

For the month of February,  I am going to include and cute little crochet purse in my Etsy Shop  AND the fantastic price of only $20.  My sweet daughter helps me with these purses.  She does the main part and then I do the edge and the handle.  She is pretty talented for a 10 year old!  Anyway, everything fits inside just right.  This makes it the BEST gift ever.  You know that if you gave this at a baby shower, you would get the ooohs and aaahs that we all crave.  I pretty much bank on those for self esteem boosts.

I am also hoping to do a giveaway so you could WIN one of these.  Stay tuned for more info!

Sweet Bare Bottom Feet

Decorating babies is more fun than it should be.  Last year I did a Bare Bottom Sandal that wrapped around the toe and it was a hit.  This year, I am mixing it up a bit and leaving the toes alone.  These sandals wrap around the foot and the ankle and pretty much leave the cute button and flower to accent those yummy baby feet.  To put them on the foot, you grab all of the straps and slip the foot in between the straps and the top of the sandal.  It is a little easier to put these on :)

To add to the cuteness my friend Brittany suggested a headband.  Hello!  Duh!  This little sandal turned into a set that is a must have for this spring!

These are listed in My Mady Michelle on Etsy.  I will be doing a giveaway on Facebook so make sure to LIKE my shop if you want to win one.

Get your Free Crochet Hair Bow!

For the last year I have been growing my hair out.  It makes my husband happy and my hair dresser refused to cut it short anymore.  Good thing she is one of my besties.  Since I now have long flowing hair, I keep it up in a ponytail so I look more like a man than I did before.
Last weekend, I was playing around, trying once again to create a new product to add to my vendor booth for the 4th of Joly.  I got butterflies in my stomach when I thought about doing a crochet chevron hair bow.  After an hour of trying it a couple of ways, it turned into a big fat FAIL!  I decided to just do stripes and it made me ALMOST as happy as the thought of the chevron stripe idea.  I wish I could pause time and create a bow in ever color combo that flashes into my mind.  These are a few that I managed to get made up, pretty cute eh?  I have them listed in my Etsy Store now.

Enter the coupon code FREERWBB to receive a FREE Red White & Blue bow with a purchase of This Listing

This coupon will be available until June 22, 2013 at MIDNIGHT.  If you have questions or want to see a color combo, I would love to hear from you!  mymadymichelleboutique@gmail.com
